Unrooted.

I think I may have a problem.

I've only been home for a little under 2 weeks & I'm already planning my next big adventure.
Going abroad this time.
I've wanted to travel to Europe ever since I saw Roman Holiday as a kid.
Well to get to the point; I've got my sights set on the University of St. Andrews in Scotland for fall semester 2012.
How awesome is that?!
Through my experience in California I definitely gained the confidence to travel and be on my own far from home.
It was harder than I thought it would be.
It's sort of silly to think about having confidence in something like traveling but it is a really scary thing to do especially alone.
But I'm not scared anymore.
It is a kind of need that I have now.
An addiction.
I need to see things and be in different places.
I will always consider the midwest my home, but I've just got to see all that this planet holds
& if not now...when?

Bittersweet.

This is it.
My very last day in California,
& this pretty much sums up the mindset I'm leaving with:
I am forever changed because of this experience.
The good kind of changed.
My departure time is 11:50 pm and soon after I will be where I came from,
& surrounded by the people I love.
There are not words to explain how excited I am.

Thanks for being so nice to me California.

Absent.

Oh my goodness!
I cannot believe that I haven't blogged in almost 2 weeks.
Crazy considering I blog almost everyday.

To catch all of you up on my whereabouts...
I've been in MEXICO! Cancun to be exact.
Now I know what you're thinking but because I am a pathetic excuse for a young adult, there was zero partying for me.
I enjoyed a couple strawberry daiquiris on the beach and by the pool but that was the extent of it.

Here are a few pictures of what we DID do...
Sombreros, white sand, authentic tacos, SPF 100, petting dolphins, Spanglish, over priced ice cream, submarine scooters, diarrhea, overly excited waiters, American Network, hammocks & Coca-Cola Light.

All-in-all it was a great time.

Upbeat.

My apologies for being a sucky blogger lately.
Here's some stuff that's been going on in my life recently:

School
Studying for midterms have taken over my life.
He's all I've been listening to for the past 5 days. I'm obsessed.
Art History
I know I'm a nerd, but I don't care. I LOVE IT.
Photography
I've cooked up some ideas for some summer photo shoots that I can't wait to try out.
Spring Break
I'm going to MEXICO! Yep, with my friend Caroline.
In 6 days we will be on our way to Cancun for a whole week!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

Vacated.

My dad and older brothers made me a very happy daughter/sister this past weekend when they came to visit.
We traveled all the way up the coast to San Francisco.
^This place was absolutely surreal. If I could live there I totally would.
I fell in love with this city.
Then after we accomplished all of touristy goals we took a couple of days and make our way back to L.A.
Thanks for the great time boys!

Trapped.

Oh to be a bird,
free to fly without responsibility.
I long to be a bird.

With the new year many people start making their resolutions.
Well I never really followed that tradition.
This year instead of committing to losing 10 lbs. or quit biting my nails I have decided to do something a little different.

This is going to be a year of preparation for me.
I plan on preparing myself financially, emotionally, and mentally.
(but mostly financially)

The plan is to move to California.
Yes, California in the spring of 2011.

I thought I was happy with MSUM and I was, because it wasn't New Prague. I have only been studying there for one semester but I don't feel like I am accomplishing anything. I feel like my life is standing still.
I feel stuck.
The art program is great at MSUM and to my surprise I did very well my first semester, but there is something missing. I don't know what it is, or if I will be able to find it in California but I am going to try.

MSUM offers a national student exchange program where I can pick a university in the U.S. that offers my major and is apart of this national exchange thing. I can study there and pay in state tuition or MSUM's tuition (I still need to research the details).

So I am going to the University of California - Northridge!

Once I get back to school after break I am going to contact the NSE person and make it official.
I really think this is just what I need. MN will always be my home and forever have my heart but I think I am ready for a massive change.

It is time for a change of scenery and get my life off and running.
